1. Whale Watching Excursion - daily

Month: November thru April at Dana Point Harbor

Dana Point is Orange County's best year round whale watching destination. With migrating Gray Whales from November through April and Blue whales visiting from May through November, the harbor is uniquely close to the spots where these animals are most often seen.

2. Dana Point Festival of Whales

Month: March from 10AM - 10PM at Dana Point Harbor.

It's time for the whales to make their annual trip down south and the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce will celebrate with their Annual Street Fair, which is part of the whale Festival with a weekend of fun, food, entertainment and an arts of craft show with over 100 vendors.

3. Doheny Blues Festival

Month: May

The Annual Blues Festival is the true kick-off to summer with a weekend filled with music, lots of vendors and a International Food Court that features foods from around the world. Be sure you come down to Doheny State Beach and celebrate the beginning of summer with Orange County's Favorite and most anticipated annual summer festival!

4. Dana Point Harbor Annual Boat Show & Green Expo

Month: June

Dana Point Harbor is one of the most spectacular marinas along the California coast, from San Francisco to the Mexican border. Always full with the highest-quality of boats, Dana Point Harbor is home to thousands of watercraft and enthusiasts who enjoy all types of water sports activities throughout the year.

New and Used Boats and Products will be on display both in and out of the water at the Boat Show.

6. Toshiba Tall Ships Festival

Month: September

The Ocean Institute host the Toshiba Tall Ships Festival, the largest annual gathering of tall ships on the West Coast. The festival will feature a spectacular array of family-fun activities including live music, art & craft shows, exciting living-history demonstrations and a variety of tasty food. Enjoy maritime displays and presentations, Polynesian dancers, sea-chantey concerts, an interactive pirate encampment and dramatic sunset cannon battles. Additionally, you can explore the historic tall ships and listen to the crew share tales of adventure and life at sea. Last but not least, we invite you to explore the Ocean Institute and explore our local ocean life, participate in live parrot shows, play pirate games and join in on special interactive presentations. So, join us for a weekend of fun and adventure as we celebrate the areas rich maritime history.

7. Turkey Trot

Month: November

Tour the beautiful beach, majestic cliffs and coves of Dana Point. Enjoy pounding surf, rugged cliffs, and cool ocean breezes as you sail through the Dana Point Marina, Doheny State Park and pass the Historic Tall Ship Pilgrim moored in Dana Point Harbor.
